1. Introduction

Welcome to Cryptora, an application developed by DESARROLLO EN TECNOLOGÍA ANTARES (hereinafter, “Antares”, “AntaresGT”, “we”, “our”).
This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use the Cryptora mobile application (“the App”). Your privacy and the security of your information are paramount to us; Cryptora is built with privacy at its core: your secrets never leave your device unless you optionally create a backup in Google Drive.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

Cryptora is designed to work completely offline for its core data. We do not collect, store, transmit, or have access to:

  • The text secrets you save in the App.

  • The encryption key you generate using a photo.

  • Usage data or analytics linked to your identity.

All these data remain solely under your control within the App’s secure storage on your device.

3. Information We Do Handle

Below is each type of data, how it is obtained, and its purpose:

Email Address

  • How obtained: only if you choose to sign in via Google Sign-In.

  • Purpose: links your encrypted backup to your Google Drive account and enables recovery on future devices.

  • Retention: remains associated with the backup file until you delete it or unlink the account.

Device ID (Android ID)

  • How obtained: automatically handled by Google’s SDK during authentication.

  • Purpose: secures communication with Google services and validates the integrity of the backup process.

  • Retention: processed temporarily; Cryptora does not store it on its own servers.

Encrypted Secrets (user-entered content)

  • How obtained: the text you enter and choose to save.

  • Purpose: lets you store and retrieve confidential information within the App.

  • Retention: remains encrypted in the local database on your device until you delete it.

Encryption Key Derived from Your Photo

  • How obtained: generated locally by the App from a photo you select.

  • Purpose: encrypts and decrypts your secrets.

  • Retention: stays only on your device; it is never uploaded to the cloud nor shared with Antares.

Important: The email address and device ID are handled only if the user enables the backup option. Normal use, without signing in, transmits no personal data.

4. How We Use the Information

Backups and Restore (optional)

  • When you enable backups to Google Drive, Cryptora prompts you to sign in with Google.

  • Your email identifies the Drive account; a ciphered file that only you can decrypt is stored there.

  • The device ID is managed by Google’s SDK to ensure communication integrity.

Local Operation

  • Your secrets and key are encrypted with AES-256 inside the App’s local database.

  • None of these data are sent to Antares servers.

5. Data Security

  • Strong encryption (AES-256) for the local database and backup files.

  • Encrypted transport (HTTPS/TLS) when communicating with Google Drive.

  • Unique, local key derived from the photo; never uploaded to the cloud.

  • Periodic code and dependency reviews to mitigate vulnerabilities.

6. Sharing Information with Third Parties

We do not sell, rent, or share your secrets or keys with third parties.
The only third parties involved are Google services (Google Sign-In and Google Drive) when you opt for backups; Google’s processing of data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.

7. User Rights and Control

  • Enable/disable backups: in Cryptora’s settings screen.

  • Delete a backup:

    • Directly in your Google Drive → delete the file “cryptora_backup.zip”.

  • Unlink the linked account: from the App or in your Google Account’s Security section.

  • Additional access or deletion requests: email us at soporte@antares.com.

8. User Responsibility

You are responsible for maintaining the physical and digital security of your device and the confidentiality of the photo used to generate the key. Antares / AntaresGT cannot recover your secrets if you lose the key or the encrypted file.

9. Children’s Privacy

Cryptora is not directed to children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe we have inadvertently received such information, please contact us so we can delete it.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy occasionally. We will notify you of any changes by posting the revised version on this page and updating the “last updated” date.
